What if I am out of network? If you have health insurance and we are out of network you can pay out of pocket at the time of the visit and we can provide you a Superbill to submit to your health insurance company for up to 60-80% reimbursement.

Preventive Services (Often 100% covered, $0 copay, $0 coinsurance). Nutrition counseling is covered widely by BlueCross Blue Shield. Other commercial insurance companies use the following criteria;

• Weight counseling, Adults and children with BMI greater than 30 or BMI greater than 25 with additional cardiovascular risk factor like high blood pressure or high cholesterol.

• Cardiovascular Disease Prevention, Adults with higher risk for heart disease, stroke, or metabolic syndrome.

• Diabetes Prevention, Counseling for prediabetes, insulin resistance, high fasting glucose and A1c.

• Prenatal & Postpartum Wellness, Pregnancy with high BMI, rapid weight gain, hx of pre-diabetes, gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, lactation & breastfeeding nutrition.

Other Common Qualifying Medical Diagnosis

• Diabetes: Type 1, Type 2, Gestational diabetes

• Kidney Disease: Chronic kidney disease

• Eating Disorders: anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder

• Digestion: Celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, IBS or severe food allergies/intolerances

• Heart Conditions: high blood pressure (hypertension), high cholesterol (dyslipidemia)
